Brawley Pop Warner

Brawley Pop Warner will be accepting completed player forms from 6-8 p.m. Friday and July 30-31 at Wiest Field. The completed contract should be turned in along with a copy of the child's birth certificate, report card and photo. Men's softball league

Registration is being accepted for the Calexico Recreation Department's men's softball league. The cost is $250 per team. For more information call Jamie at 768-7492.

Wrestling officials sought

Brawley Little League

Brawley Little League will have elections of league officers for the 2002 season at 7 today at Beechey Field. For more information call Miguel Miranda at 344-3235 or 352-8892.

Southwest basketball camp

The Southwest High School girls basketball team will host a basketball camp for girls and boys from 1 to 4 through Friday in the Eagles' gymnasium in El Centro. The cost is $40 per camper and each additional family member will be charged $35. For more information contact Ruben Valenzuela at 336-4149.

Calexico physicals

Calexico Pop Warner will have free physicals from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in Dr. Mario Ceja's office at 501 3rd St. in Calexico.

El Centro summer youth programs

Mondays through Thursdays, Central Union High School will host an open gym from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.; the weight room will be open from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.; Southwest High will host tennis from 6 to 8 p.m. and Central Union High golf coach Mike Thomas will host a golf program from 8 to 11 a.m. at Barbara Worth Golf Resort. The programs will run through Thursday and are free for El Centro youths and high school students.

Sparks signups

Registration is being accepted for the Brawley Police Activities League's girls Sparks basketball team. The team is open to girls ages 8 to 15. For more information call 344-8464.

Imperial football practice

Football practice for Imperial High School will start at 6 a.m. Aug. 15. Prior to players practicing, all paperwork, gear and locker assignments must be cleared with Coach Mike Swearingen. This clearance can be done from 8 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. through Friday in Room 25 of Imperial High.

IV BMX

The Imperial Valley BMX Association will have practice from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at its track in Seeley. Registration for Saturday's races will be from 6 to 7 p.m., with racing to immediately follow.

Brawley fall physicals

The final fall sports physical for Brawley Union High School athletes will be at 6 p.m. Aug. 1 in the gym. Packets must be picked up in the main office prior to the physicals.

Brawley Pop Warner will have physicals given by Dr. Richard Bogue at 8 a.m. Saturday in his office at 608 G St. in Brawley. The fee is $10.

Imperial County Sheriff's Activities League

The Imperial County Sheriff's Activities League is sponsoring the NFL Gatorade Punt, Pass and Kick competition at 7 a.m. Sept. 15 at Southwest High School in El Centro. The competition is open to boys and girls ages 8 to 15. Entry forms are available at local Sheriff's Office stations as well as Driscoll's Sports in El Centro. The SAL also is looking for coaches for its upcoming flag football season. For more information on coaching call 339-0113.
