Thank You: Barbara Worth Junior High summer school thanks

July 27, 2001

Career exploration and making good decisions from tough choices was the central theme of the summer school program for Barbara Worth Junior High students. We'd like to thank the following speakers for their willingness to break from busy schedules to meet with our students: Herman Garcia, Wells Fargo Bank; Detective Garcia and Officer Shephard, Brawley Police Department; Frank Marquez, Center for Family Solutions (formerly Womanhaven); Mike Johnson, Turning Point Ministries; Jessie de los Santos, Barbara Worth Junior High counselor; and Imperial County Office of Education student well-being, conflict resolution communication specialists and character education asset development specialists. We'd also like to thank Brawley Vons, Video 2000, Domino's, Johnny's Burritos, Sizzler and Wal-Mart for their part in reminding students that good attendance and punctuality promote a good work ethic, which begins with school.

Together, as a community working hand-in-hand with students, we can reach and teach responsible, caring young people who will become our future.
