In September 1976, she married her second husband, Russell Guler, in El Centro. The Gulers lived in El Centro until August 1994 when they relocated to New Rockford.
She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in New Rockford.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Guler; second husband, Russell Guler; and an infant brother.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Carol Guler of Imperial and Terry and Stephanie Guler of Brawley; daughter, Christine Shaffer of El Centro; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Shayne Brady of Holtville; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Lucille Proefrock of Freemont; sisters, Verna Guler of New Rockford and Frances Horning of Aberdeen, S.D.; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
LOIS HIBBARD HINZE
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First Southern Baptist Church in Imperial for Lois Hibbard Hinze, 93, of Imperial, who died Thursday.
The Rev. Mike Cox will officiate.
Burial will be in Olivewood Cemetery in Riverside.
Ms. Hinze was born July 5, 1908 in Riverside.
Ms. Hinze lived in the Imperial Valley for many years. She was the first woman manager of Imperial Stores in Imperial, from which she retired.
Ms. Hinze had a boarding house in Calipatria and helped with cooking at Hi-Pass Camp.
She was a true Los Angeles Lakers fan, never missing a game if she could help it.
Ms. Hinze loved visiting with family and friends and will be missed by all who loved her, according to family.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Marjorie Hinshaw Mitchell.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Ted Miller of Paso Robles; grandchildren, Jarva Walters Guerrero of Imperial, Jean Love, of El Centro, Retha Bowser of Ventura; David and Vicki Hoskins of Eureka; Nancy and David Olsen of Walnut and Susan and Dean Dickerson of Davis; 11 great-grandchildren and 10 great great-grandchildren.
ARISTEO Y. LOPEZ
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight in Frye Chapel & Mortuary of Imperial Valley in Brawley for Aristeo Y. Lopez, 67, of Brawley, who died Thursday in El Centro.
Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. Monday in Riverview Cemetery in Brawley with Pastor Henry Cervantes of Trinidad Christian Center of El Centro officiating.
Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Mr. Lopez was born April 18, 1934, in Brawley. He was raised in Brawley, where he attended local schools.
He worked for the Brawley Union High School District for 34 years before retiring in 1995.
He enjoyed relaxing at home and being with his family.
He was preceded in death by his son Raul Lopez in 1978.
Survivors include sons and daughter-in-laws, Ralph V. and Rosa Lopez and Raymond Lopez and Cynthia Garcia, all of Brawley; daughters and sons-in-law Rita and Guadalupe Jimenez of Imperial Beach and Rosie and Marcos Jimenez of El Centro; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Manuel and Candice Morales of Glendale, Ariz., and Andrew and Celia Morales, of Layton; sister and brother-in-law, Laura and Peter Frost of Sylmar; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
