CAMPO — The Campo Band of Mission Indians will be staging its grand opening of Golden Acorn Casino & Travel Center on Interstate 8 at 7 p.m. Aug. 15.
This facility will be 60,000 square-feet with gaming, dining and many more amenities geared toward travelers on Interstate 8.
With over 35,000 square feet devoted to casino floor, Golden Acorn Casino will house 750 state-of-the-art slot machines, 12 table games and will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Said Golden Acorn General Manager Richard Slack: "This facility will give truckers and travelers a reason to stop and locals a place to play."
The Golden Casino & Travel Center is owned and will be operated by the Campo Band of Mission Indians. The complex is an hour east of San Diego and less than an hour west of El Centro off Interstate 8 at the Crestwood Road exit.
