A 47-year-old El Centro woman was arrested for driving under the influence after she escaped serious injury during a single-vehicle accident.
A press release from the California Highway Patrol stated Lya Duran was traveling south on Nichols Road south of Van Der Poel Road southwest of El Centro about 7:40 p.m. Saturday.
According to the press release, Duran allowed her pickup to run off the road. It rolled and came to rest in an asparagus field.
Duran was ejected from her truck. She was not wearing a seat belt.
She was taken to El Centro Regional Medical Center for treatment of what the Highway Patrol listed as moderate injuries.
She was arrested for driving under the influence.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
