Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Olivewood Cemetery in Riverside for Lois Hibbard-Hinze, 93, of Atascadero, who died Thursday in Templeton. Pastor Michael Hibbard will officiate.

A reception will follow at the Riverside Elks Lodge 643, 6166 Brockton Ave. in Riverside.

Mrs. Hinze was born on July 5, 1908, in Riverside. She lived in the Imperial Valley for 60 years.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Clarence Hibbard and Rubin Hinze; and daughter Marjorie Mitchell.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Ted Miller of Paso Robles; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Anne and Del Nadeau of Indio; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be sent to a charity of choice.


No services were conducted for Wayne Tyrone "Wolf" Johnson Sr., 49, of Compton, who died of renal failure July 15 in San Diego.


His remains were cremated.

Mr. Johnson was born June 8, 1953, in Compton. He lived in El Centro for more than 25 years.

Survivors include his daughters, Tracy, Janine and Trishonda Johnson, all of Compton; and sons, Michael and Damian C. Johnson, both of El Centro, and Wayne Tyrone Johnson Jr. of Compton.


Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Hems Bros. Mortuary chapel in El Centro for Teresa R. Soto, 88, of Holtville, who died Friday in Yuma Regional Medical Center. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m.

Mass will be celebrated at 8 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Holtville with the Rev. Cecilio Moraga officiating.

Burial will be in Terrace Park Cemetery in Holtville.

Mrs. Soto was born May 12, 1913, in Mexico. She came to Holtville in 1949, where she was a housekeeper for many years.

Mrs. Soto also worked as a cook's assistant at The Horne Café, Holtville Motor Inn and J&M Café, all in Holtville. She retired from the J&M Cafe in 1978.

She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Frank Nogales.

Survivors include her daughter, Helen Nogales of Holtville; son and daughter-in-law, Francisco Santos and Carmela Sarabia of Mexicali; grandchildren, Arlene and Brian Van Bebber, Frankie Nogales, Debbie and Richard Baro, all of Holtville, Lupe Sarabia of Fresno and Rosa, Mercedes, Concha and Martin Sarabia, all of Mexicali; great-grandchildren, Chelsea Van Bebber, Richie and Audrey Baro, all of Holtville, Felix, Francisco, Melissa, Gabriela, Vincent, Destiny and Victor Delgadillo, all of Fresno, and Jesus, Ariel and Eddie Beltran and Marta and Raul Salazar, all of Mexicali; and great-great-grandson, Jesus Beltran Jr. of Mexicali.
