Voice: The real designer steps up?

August 02, 2001

As I was reading the Friday, I.V. Press, I came across the "Mad Families" article and noticed my sticker design on the front page. As I kept reading, I also noticed that a "certain someone" is taking credit for something he did not design. I guess adding three buttons and moving an arm makes you the original designer.

I created the "Reggae-Rasta" girl for Driscoll's back in 1996 for the girls' new clothing line when I was employed there for a short period of time. I feel I should have been mentioned, whether I am employed there or not. So I decided to take it upon myself to make a retraction. I deserve some type of recognition for the stick figure girl that started this whole window craze.

I am tired of businesses here in the Valley taking advantage of minorities and thinking they can take credit for one's creativity, regardless of how many years have passed.

Hey Driscoll's, did you honestly think I would forget something I designed?
