FERMIN ESTRADA

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight in Hems Bros. Mortuary chapel in El Centro for Fermin Estrada, 75, of Imperial, who died Wednesday in his home. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m.

Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Imperial. The Rev. Angelo Risoli will officiate.

Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Calexico.

Mr. Estrada was born May 26, 1926, in the state of Sonora, Mexico. He lived in the Imperial Valley for more than 50 years.

Mr. Estrada worked at Southwest Marketing, Heinz Cannery in Tracy, as a carpenter in Salton City and last worked as a heavy equipment operator for Tophan & Sons. He retired after 15 years of service from Tophan & Sons.

Mr. Estrada coached Little League and Babe Ruth baseball and played baseball while residing in Mexico. He enjoyed camping, riding in the desert, traveling and dancing, according to family.

Survivors include his wife, Francisca Estrada of Imperial; daughter, Teresa Torres of Imperial; sons, Jaime and Fermin Estrada, both of Imperial; brothers, Tomas and Venancio Estrada, both of Mexico; sisters, Susana Soto, Sofia Zepeda and Israela Estrada, all of Mexico; and grandchildren, Janine and Annette Torres and Alice, Jaime, Julia, Kassandra, Stephanie and Adrian Estrada, all of Imperial.
