Four people suffered minor injuries when the sport-utility vehicle they were in rolled on Interstate 8 west of El Centro on Sunday.

The single-vehicle accident occurred shortly after noon as the SUV, driven by Kathleen Bascus, 75, of Brawley, flipped off its tires on I-8 west of Derrick Road.

According to the Highway Patrol, Bascus had been driving west on the interstate when she lost control of the vehicle, causing it to roll onto its left side.

The vehicle came to a rest in the center divider.

Three passengers in the SUV, two adults, ages 45 and 40, one from San Diego and the other from Vista, and a 15-year-old youth from San Diego, all were hurt, as was Bascus.
