Mervyn's is proud to have hosted ChildSpree for the past nine years. As a company, we feel that we are providing a strong commitment to giving in our community.
ChildSpree was a success again this year. Words cannot describe the excitement and gratitude expressed by the 71 children who were involved in the back-to-school shopping spree.
We are truly grateful for the community partners: Nancie Rhodes of the Sunrise Optimist Club, Ed Preciado and Jerry Godsey of the Sheriff's Activities League, Judy Chilcott of the Brawley Boys & Girls Club, and the El Centro businesses that have helped us year after year. They have given generously.
A huge thank you goes to Locke Air Conditioning, Valley Independent Bank, Home Depot, Imperial Irrigation District, Staples, Big 5, Smart & Final, Beauty Xpectations, Lollipop Clowns, Wonder Bread, Kmart, Wendy's, Albertson's, California Highway Patrol, 94.5/Univision, El Centro Fire Department for letting the kids on the fire truck, Imperial Valley Press for covering this special event, and to all the employees of Mervyn's who helped in more ways than I can list.
