Supervisors to determine Niland lighting fee

September 02, 2001|By LAURA MITCHELL, Staff Writer

The county Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing at its meeting Tuesday to determine the fee charged to residents for providing street lighting to Niland County Service Area 1.

The annual public hearing, scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m., is required because electricity costs fluctuate. The county Public Works Department is recommending the fee stay the same at $14.

After the hearing, the board will stage a budget workshop on the county's 2001-2002 proposed budget changes.

The board also will discuss and possibly take action on:

· a resolution on SEMPRA Energy Resources

· the proposed North Baja Pipeline

No other information was available on those two items.

The board meets in the County Administration building at 940 W. Main St. in El Centro. Open session starts at 9:30 a.m.
