LA QUINTA — The Salton Sea Authority Board of Directors will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday.
The board will be asked to fund a $200,000 bioremediation process proposal. Authority staff is recommending denial of the funding.
Instead, authority staff is recommending the board refer the issue to the authority's science subcommittee for evaluation, and if determined feasible, to seek bids for the project.
The board meets in the boardroom of the Imperial Irrigation District, 81-600 Ave. 58, La Quinta.
The board also will consider a $45,000 request to build flight pens in which pelicans can regain flight-muscle strength.
The board will receive updates on:
· federal legislation to facilitate the so-called quantification settlement agreement.
· the salt-removing solar evaporation pond pilot project.
