Imperial extends library hours

September 13, 2001

IMPERIAL — Reading buffs will be pleased to learn the city of Imperial's library has extended its hours.

Library Technician Fred Fontaine announced the change Wednesday, saying the new hours are effective immediately. He said the increase in hours will be on a trial basis and runs through the end of the fiscal year in June.

The total number of hours the library will be open per week will be 47, an increase of 15 hours from the previous schedule.

Fontaine said two new staff members have been employed because of the increased hours.

Fontaine added, "I hope the community of Imperial will utilize their library more because of the new hours."

The new hours are 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Fridays.
