Armed robber makes off with more than $200 in Del Taco heist

El Centro police are looking for a man who robbed a local fast food restaurant at gunpoint Thursday and pedaled away with more than $200 in cash.

El Centro police Sgt. Theresa Quinn said the incident occurred at the Del Taco restaurant at 1540 Ocotillo Drive around 10 p.m. The suspect entered the store wearing a baseball cap on his head and a bandanna over the lower part of his face. Using a gun, the man demanded money, then fled the area on a bicycle, Quinn said.

The gun was recovered in the restaurant parking lot.

The suspect is described as a 6-foot tall Hispanic or non-Hispanic white male. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and tan pants.

Police ask that anyone with information regarding this incident call the El Centro Police Department investigation division at 337-4525.
