The Imperial Valley's Congregation Beth Jacob has organized high holy days services for Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur.
Rosh Hashana services, the celebration of the Jewish New Year, will start at 7:30 p.m. Monday and continue at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the congregation's synagogue at 530 Adams Ave. in El Centro.
A Tashlich service will follow the Tuesday morning service. Tashlich, a service in which bread is thrown into water to cleanse sins, will be at the canal near the Barbara Worth Golf Resort.
Yom Kippur services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 26 and 10 a.m. Sept. 27 at the synagogue. Yom Kippur, the day of atonement, will end with a Yiskor service at 5:30 p.m. and a brake-the-fast meal.
