I had written my reply to my friend Mo Morrison and was ready to fire it off to Mr. Kofford when our county's very foundation was rocked by this unthinkable tragedy. I threw the letter away.
The days of political squabbling are over. We must unite against these enemies who have attacked our very existence as a free nation. Under these circumstances, we are no longer Republicans or Democrats, liberals or conservatives. We are no longer black, brown, white, yellow, red, green or purple. We are only red, white, and blue.
We all must stand together, arm in arm and be willing to help where we can, sacrifice when it's needed and support our government in these unprecedented times.
We are at war. This is dead serious. We must eradicate terrorism from this planet, whatever the cost, to prevent this atrocity from ever happening again. We owe that to our kids.
