Library in Calipatria temporarily closed

September 25, 2001

CALIPATRIA — The Calipatria branch of the Imperial County Free Library will be closed through Friday to accommodate the relocation of the library collection into the Meyer Memorial Library at 225 W. Main St.

The relocation is the first step in the renovation and expansion of the Meyer Memorial Library building.

A joint project of the Imperial County Free Library and the city of Calipatria, the renovation will provide an attractive, virtually new setting for library services in Calipatria.

"We apologize for any temporary inconvenience to the residents of Calipatria," said Teri Woelke, the library branch supervisor. "We will be in tight quarters for a while but will be continuing our normal service hours beginning Monday, Oct. 1. When our renovation is completed, in approximately one year, we believe we will be providing an attractive setting in which to enjoy our collection as well as enhanced access to materials for our patrons."

Normal service hours for the Calipatria branch are 9 a.m. Mondays through Fridays and 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays.

County library patrons can access other county branches in Westmorland or Holtville through the week.
