With a mission of empowering families of persons with disabilities, this year's Fiesta Educativa Imperial County Committee conference will be Oct. 6 at Imperial Valley College.
The bilingual educational conference is open to anyone but is aimed particularly at parents of children with disabilities and the professionals who work with them.
Along with a variety of workshops on topics ranging from rights for the disabled to teaching methodologies, the conference's keynote speaker will be José Leonardo Fuentes, who has doctorates in clinical psychology and pediatric neuropsychology.
Registration fee for the conference is $35. The conference runs from 7 a.m. to 4:55 p.m.
