McCabe 4-H officers meeting

Cancer Society meeting

Cotton pest abatement meeting

The Imperial Valley Cotton Pest Abatement District will meet at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Irrigated Desert Research Station's conference room, 4151 Highway 86 in Brawley.


Spartan Band Boosters meeting

The Spartan Band Boosters will have a general meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the band room on the Central Union High School campus in El Centro. Parents of band members, tall flags and majorettes going to Mardi Gras in February must attend the meeting.

Central class of '56 reunion

Central Union High School's class of 1956 will have its 45-year reunion at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 13 in Mama's Place in Imperial. The cost is $15 per person.

On Oct. 12, the class will be guests at Central's football homecoming game against Holtville. At 10:30 a.m. Oct. 13, the class will tour Pioneers' Museum and afterward have a luncheon at Camacho's Restaurant in rural El Centro. On Oct. 14 the class will have breakfast at 8 a.m. in Mama's Place.

Christian Women's

fashion show/luncheon

The El Centro Christian Women's Club will have its "The Wedding Planner" fashion show and luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Thursday in the Barbara Worth Golf Resort, 2050 Country Drive near Holtville.

The event will feature fashions by Al's Tuxedo and Bridal Shop in downtown El Centro. Guest speaker will be Marilyn Henry, a world traveler from Tucson, who will speak on "Here Comes the Earthquake, Ready or Not." The cost is $10.50 per person.
