S.D. Historical Society to present Salton Sea talk

SAN DIEGO — The San Diego Historical Society will present a panel discussion on the ecology and future of the Salton Sea.

The event is set for 2 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Historical Society's Balboa Park location.

Panelists include Michael Cohen, senior research associate with the Oakland-based Pacific Institute; Milton Friend, chief scientist with the Salton Sea Authority science subcommittee; Steve Horvitz, superintendent of the Salton Sea State Recreation Area; Tom Kirk, Salton Sea Authority executive director; and Sylvia Pelizza, refuge manager for the Sonny Bono Salton Sea National Wildlife Refuge.
