Thank You: Brawley band and cheer squad great

go to a game yourself

October 04, 2001

After being a spectator at the last Brawley Wildcat football game against Central, I wanted to write a letter of appreciation to two Brawley Union High School organizations.

I first want to send my kudos out to the BUHS band under the direction of Amy Jo Dailey. This group of young people has really come a long way over the past year and their presence at the games and other spirit events is wonderful. Their enthusiasm and skill keep the spectators entertained and involved.

My next applause goes out to the varsity cheerleading squad under the direction of Kat Hughes. You ladies look fantastic! Your energy and Wildcat pride really show and the crowd is truly responding to your lead. I have seen more positive responses to cheering during these past few events than I have over the past few years.

Wildcat spirit is high at the school and within the community and the band and cheerleaders have a lot to do with that. Keep it up, musicians and cheerleaders!

If you have not been to your local Friday football game recently (especially you Wildcat fans), I encourage you to go. There are great people, fantastic football, delicious food and I promise you will leave with a sense of pride in your community. If football is not your game, volleyball, tennis, cross country and girls' golf are also alive right now in your community.
