A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Brawley for David A. Titsworth, 75, of Indio, a former Brawley resident who died Tuesday in Desert Hospital in Palm Springs. The Rev. Ben Davison will officiate.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro.

Mr. Titsworth was born Feb. 3, 1926, in Pomona and was raised in Brawley. He was the son of Imperial Valley pioneers Lewis and Esther Titsworth.

Mr. Titsworth attended and graduated from Brawley Union High School, University of Southern California and San Diego State University. He married Angela Legakes in El Centro on June 8, 1957.


Mr. Titsworth was a U.S. Navy and reserves veteran. He was a certified public accountant and had worked for Foss, Macklin & King, as well as serving as auditor/controller for Imperial County. He retired to the Palm Springs area in 1988.

He was a past-exalted ruler of Brawley Elks Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Angela Titsworth, on June 12, 1976.

Survivors include his daughters, Valerie Ledyard of Indio and Andrea Titsworth of San Diego; grandson, Erik Ledyard of Indio; brother, Jack Titsworth of Fresno; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
