$150K line of credit for McCabe Union on Supervisors' agenda

October 08, 2001|By LAURA MITCHELL, Staff Writer

The county Board of Supervisors is scheduled Tuesday to discuss approving a $150,000 line of credit to the McCabe Union School District.

The request was made by the school district's superintendent.

"This is a request that we usually make at the beginning of each year until our budget is settled," said Sandra Hendrix, business manager of the McCabe district, which is south of El Centro.

The district's budget is expected to be finalized Dec. 15, Hendrix said.

The board also is scheduled to approve an agreement, not to exceed $25,000, with Project Design Consultants of San Diego for design services for improvements to the Gateway of the Americas infrastructure, which includes roads, bridges and sewer lines.

In addition, the supervisors are scheduled to approve an agreement, not to exceed $55,000, with Dutton Consulting of San Diego for project management services for the Gateway project.

The board is expected to approve starting the bidding process to purchase and set up an approximately 3,500-square-foot modular building for the sheriff/coroner.

The board will have a public hearing at 1:30 p.m. on an appeal by R.L. McFarland of a county Planning Commission decision in August. The Aug. 22 decision allowed Aggregate Products additional access to haul fill dirt across Robinson Road to the adjacent Allied Waste landfill.

The board meets at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the board chambers on the second floor of the County Administration Center, 940 W. Main St., El Centro. Meeting agendas are available online at
