Voice: War is even more hellish, and more of an opportunity, for non-whites

October 15, 2001

The war has begun, this time justly so. And now, may God help us all.

The government and media are telling us to prepare ourselves for a long and costly war. The military-industrial complex is again destined for profits and riches at the expense of our (mostly poor) children's lives.

Yes, war is hell, especially for non-whites. Ironically, it has also been a blessing in disguise.

After every war, U.S. minorities (women, too) have made tremendous advancements in civil rights. War is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer.

Oh, by the way, far more sons and daughters of Democrats have died in defense of our nation than those of Republicans, and that is an undisputed fact. So you can take that to your next committee meeting, Jimbo!
