WINTERHAVEN — It only took the Vincent Memorial football team 55 minutes to dispose of San Pasqual High as the game was called when Vincent took a 46-0 lead late in the second quarter here Friday.
Games in Arizona leagues, in which San Pasqual plays, are called when the deficit reaches 45 points, which was the case with the Scots when they scored their sixth touchdown of the game, an 88-yard run by Eric Ruiz at the 1-minute, 17-second mark in the second quarter.
Sergio Herrera began the scoring onslaught with a 92-yard punt return 2:18 into the game. Ruiz then ran in the two-point conversion for the Scots.
About 42 seconds later Luis Zidales recovered a San Pasqual fumble and returned it 23 yards for the score. Montaño added the two-point conversion on a quarterback keeper.
