The Southwest High girls tennis team capped a perfect Imperial Valley League Season in impressive fashion at home in El Centro on Wednesday with a 17-1 annihilation of Holtville.

"I'm just really excited about another successful season," said Southwest coach Genaro Piniero. "At the beginning of the year I told the girls that if they stayed healthy, kept up their grades and practiced hard we could continue to win."

"Our girls thought that as long as everyone did their job, we couldn't do anything but win. And we were also just fortunate to have girls that are unselfish and put the team first."

Leading Southwest against Holtville were its singles players, which won every set and outscored the Vikings by a combined score of 54-3.

No. 1 for the Eagles, Judy Hsu, No. 2 Ashmi Ullal and No. 3 Bianca Bonilla all finished with 6-0 wins over the Vikings' Stephanie Sharp and Cyndi Bringle.
