Voice: We all need to work to win the war, end terrorism

October 31, 2001

This is war. The United States was attacked in its homeland. Don't let the far left and the apologists dissuade you otherwise.

Support the president. Support the military. The objective is clear: the destruction of the Taliban government and the al-Qaeda terrorist organization. This is the end point for Afghanistan. Nothing short of taking the American flag into the city of Kabul will do. Our president and Congress are finally taking the bull by the horns, something that the past administration failed to do.

After victory there we are off to take care of other countries that harbor terrorists.

President Bush made it quite clear. Either you are with us or against us. If you harbor terrorists by providing them safe haven, you are against the national interests of the United States.

Another issue that runs parallel is the failure of our immigration policy. Students entering the country are not being tracked. People who come here on time-limited visas are not being followed and asked to leave when their visa expires.

Our borders are way too porous. There are approximately 6 million illegals in the country. We need to, as many have said, tighten our borders. The Immigration and Naturalization Service for whatever reason has failed to monitor foreigners in our homeland. This is unacceptable.

The United States is not a warmonger. The loss of life is sad for all of us. But remember, as the president, said, "This is a mission that we did not ask for." The victims of the WTC and Pentagon disasters depend on us to avenge their untimely and unprovoked deaths.
