Incumbent among three elected to fill seats on Calipatria school board

CALIPATRIA — The preliminary results in the vote to fill three seats on the Calipatria Unified School District Board of Trustees show Jeff Zendejas, Michael Fong and incumbent Patty Dockstader winning.

Zendejas led the six total candidates with 347 votes, or about 24 percent of all votes. He was followed closely by Fong, who was in second place with 337 votes, or about 23 percent. Patty Dockstader received 242 votes, or about 17 percent of the total.

Incumbent Mike Aleksick came in fourth with 197 votes, or about 14 percent. Darik Erickson received 192 votes, or about 13 percent, and Thomas Everett received 126 votes or about 9 percent.

Both Dockstader and Fong were initially pleased with the results but declined to comment until the tally was final. Zendejas could not be reached for comment late Tuesday night.
