Judy Tagg, Mark Larson capture seats on McCabe school board

November 07, 2001|By KELLY GRANT, Staff Writer

Preliminary results in Tuesday's election show incumbents Judy Tagg and Mark Larson retaining their seats on the McCabe Union School District Board of Trustees despite close competition from Bertie Allison.

The election, which had three people running for two seats, proved to be particularly close between second and third places.

Tagg garnered nearly 42 percent of the total votes with 153. Larson received nearly 31 percent with 112 votes. He was followed by Allison, who was just 10 votes behind with 102, or almost 28 percent of all votes.

Larson said the results were closer than he expected, but refrained from making any further statements until the final, official tally is released.

Tagg could not be reached for comment Tuesday night.
