The El Centro Public Library will be hosting Susan Guevara, a California-based illustrator of children's books, on 6 p.m. Tuesday inside the Magee Room.
Her colorful illustrations can be seen in many books such as "Chato's Kitchen," and "Chato and the Party Animals," both written by Gary Soto, and "My Daughter, My Son, the Eagle, the Dove" by Ana Castillo.
Guevara will be in Imperial County from Nov. 12-15 visiting public schools and public libraries in Calexico and El Centro. Her visit to Imperial Valley communities is sponsored in part by the Brawley, Calexico and El Centro public libraries, the Imperial County Arts Council as well as Nana's Book Warehouse, Inc., in Calexico.
Guevara plans to discuss her experience as an artist and illustrator and speak about the craft of bookmaking. For more information call the El Centro library at 337-4565.
