Mount Signal 4-H Club meeting

Mount Signal 4-H Club will have its November community meeting at 7 p.m. Monday in the McCabe School multipurpose room, 701 W. McCabe Road in El Centro.

Republican Central Committee

The Imperial County Republican Central Committee will meet at 6 p.m. Monday in Brunner's Restaurant, 215 N. Imperial Ave., El Centro.

Business to be discussed includes the upcoming county fair, a fall fund raiser and the state convention.


Telephone Pioneers meeting


The Telephone Pioneers will have a luncheon/meeting from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday in China Palace restaurant, 1075 W. Adams Ave. in El Centro. Anyone who has worked in communications is invited.

Alzheimer's support groups

The English- and Spanish-language support groups of the Imperial Valley Alzheimer's Association will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday in AlzCare-DayOut, 580 W. Main St. in Brawley.

The groups meet the second Wednesday of each month.

"Halftime Festival"

The Imperial Valley Music Educators Association will present the fourth annual "Halftime Festival" at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Cal Jones Field on the Central Union High School campus in El Centro.

Scheduled to appear will be the Holtville Viking Band, Brawley Wildcat Band, Southwest Eagle Band, Imperial Tiger Band, Calexico Bulldog Band and the Great Spartan Band. Admission is $1.


BESD advisory committee

The Brawley Elementary School District will have its advisory committee meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the district office board room, 261 D St.

Informational items will be discussed. Parents with children in kindergarten through eighth grade are invited.

Women's Ten Thousand Club

The Women's Ten Thousand Club will have its monthly tea/program and business meeting at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at its club house, 701 W. Olive Ave. in El Centro.

Jimmie Cannon's Valley Jazz will perform during the meeting.

"Relay For Life" rally

The American Cancer Society will have its "Relay For Life" information rally from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Veteran's Hall, 247 S. Imperial Ave. in Imperial. Friends, family and business associates are invited and refreshments will be served.

Take Off Pounds Sensibly, a weight loss support group, will have an open house at 7 p.m. Thursday in the James Bucher Senior Center, 416 S. Imperial Ave. in Imperial. The support group meets every Thursday.

"Stay Out of Court/DUI"

The Imperial County Legal Secretaries Association presents "Stay Out of Court/DUI" seminar from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday in department 7 of the Imperial County Courthouse in El Centro.

The seminar will feature a panel of speakers from the California Highway Patrol, Imperial County Sheriff's Office, District Attorney's Office, Superior Court as well as a bail bondsman and attorneys.

Paintball tournament

N/R Paintball Equipment & Supply will have a three-man paintball tournament from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 25 at N/R‘s paintball field in Seeley. The cost is $125 per team. Deadline to register is Friday.
