November 17, 2001

Once again, the Freedom Fest 2001 committee extends heartfelt thanks to over 250 volunteers who helped make possible this summer's 11th annual Fourth of July celebration.

Each year the Imperial, Holtville, El Centro and Brawley chambers of commerce lend us their support, and we say thank you. We really appreciate all the help we receive from the staff and the administration of Imperial Valley College and for the use of the college grounds and facilities. The county Board of Supervisors has been very supportive of this event since its beginning in 1991, and we say thank you.

In addition, we owe numerous thank yous to all the public safety groups countywide: the Imperial County Fire Department, I.C. Sheriff's reserves, I.C. Sheriff's Explorers, I.C. Sheriff's Posse, De Anza Search & Rescue, California Highway Patrol, Gold Cross Ambulance and El Centro police reserves. Thanks again to Capt. Crane and Naval Air Facility El Centro for the color guard and static display. Furthermore, we thank Capt. Pierre and Sgt. Reyes of the National Guard for their continued support and participation.
