LONG BEACH — The Imperial Valley College women's basketball team wrapped up play in the Long Beach City College tournament here Saturday by falling 80-76 to Los Angeles Trade Tech in the tourney championship.
Leading IVC in the loss were Sandra Ramos with 29 points, six assists, six steals, five rebounds and two blocks and Marquita Travis with 18 points, eight rebounds and a steal. LaToya Jackson added 16 points, five assists and four steals and Jenny Burgos chipped in seven points and two steals for the Arabs.
On Friday IVC beat Sacramento City 62-58 to advance to the championship.
Jello Moore led the Arabs on Friday with 29 points, 14 rebounds and two steals. Jackson finished with 20 points, three steals and three rebounds and Ramos recorded seven points, six assists, five steals and five rebounds. Melissa Williams added four points, three rebounds and three steals.
On Thursday, Moore recorded another double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Arabs to a 65-55 win over Pasadena City College.
