Thank You: Thanks for successful Halloween haunted basement

November 20, 2001

We wanted to express our thank yous to the community for taking the time to attend the Halloween Haunted Basement at the Old Post Office Pavilion.

The turnout was impressive and we appreciate each of you for showing your support and for your patience while waiting in the long line to enter. Once you were inside the basement and able to join us in the fun, you really kept all us volunteers busy trying to show you around and trying to scare you and just have fun. Because of you we were able to donate 507 pounds of canned food items to the Imperial Valley Food Bank. Thank you very much for making this Halloween a big success!

We also would like to thank Randy Carson, Teresa Novinger and the rest of the nice people at the Imperial County Arts Council. Because of them, our group had a chance to use the basement and the challenge of putting on a Halloween haunted house in a different location. The group really enjoyed this opportunity and stepped up to the plate on this one.

There are a few sponsors we would like to thank very much for the giving of their time to help with the sump pumps and with monetary donations to buy electrical things and materials used to enable us to get the haunted basement prepared. They are: Foothill Engineering, A&R Construction, Saasta Chevron and HomeDepot. Your gift was very much appreciated and allowed everyone to have fun.

A huge thank you goes to all of those that gave of their time and energy to build, scare people and to take everything down. Without people giving, this would not have been made possible. You were all a great bunch of people and each contributed something different to this. The goblins identities are as follows: Danny, Mary, William, Tracy, Dustin and Fred Nichols and friend Heather, Pinky, Debie and Ian Malcholm, Brandon Fuller, James and Michael Saasta, Eddie Haynes, Michael Haynes, Karen and Ed Collins, Margaret Hangan, neighbor Louie and family, Rachel and Deuce Robertson, Kathleen Barrington, Felipe Garcia, P.K. Sharp-Garcia, Paul and Somer Steward, Chris Hester, Peter West, Jim and Eunice Maddalena, Alina Sanchez, Kristian Baker, Jenny Halcon, Adriana Correll, Michael Pflaum, Jon and Leslie Gill, Meredith and Sherry Jones, Laura Rogers, Brenda and Johnna Glenn, Kyle McDonald, Bodey, Matt Rehli and Ronnie and Jenne Golden.

A thank you also goes to Jennifer Ralton-Smith of the Imperial Valley Press for her nice newspaper article of our haunted basement. We appreciate your bringing our passion to the public's attention and raising awareness of our haunted basement and the community effort in the canned food donations. The community as a whole came out winners.
