Voice: A lobotomy might help letter writer

November 21, 2001

It shames me to read letters to the editor like the recent one by Noel Carrico where he spews all sorts of conspiracy theories and then asks if someone out there can help him sort it all out.

A lobotomy might help sort it all out for Noel.

You would think a fellow like Noel, a college graduate and all, would not be susceptible to all the B.S. If a guy like Noel believes stories like the ones he wrote about, is it any wonder less-sophisticated people not exposed to diverse medias fall for simple-minded half-truths and lies? Noel must be one of those guys who still believes in Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy.

The last time Noel wrote a letter to the editor, several people wrote back to correct some of his racist and bigoted lies. How clever the way he just casually ends his last letter with the statement that he heard somewhere that 4,000 Israelis did not show up to work on Sept. 11. This you state you heard on the radio. You must be tuned into the Skinhead National Radio Corp.

Give me a break, Noel. After two whole months of news 24 hours a day, you should know this was all done by a group of mostly Saudi Arabian Islamic fanatics.

Why all this hatred toward the Jews? A great rabbi, Jesus of Nazareth, an Israeli citizen, spoke to people about brotherly love, compassion and understanding. This is what we need to disseminate, not hateful lies.

Instead of worrying your little head with conspiracy theories, in addition to white supremacist networks, tune your radio to mainstream stations like MSNBC, CNN, FOX News and maybe the truth can somehow seep into your brain.

God bless you, and God bless America.
