Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Hems Bros. Mortuary chapel in El Centro for Maria Luisa Aguirre, 63, of El Centro, who died Monday in El Centro Regional Medical Center. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m.
Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Friday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in El Centro with the Rev. Jaime Escobedo officiating.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro.
Mrs. Aguirre was born Oct. 11, 1938, in Santa Rita, Sinaloa, Mexico. She moved from Mexico in the 1970s, settling in El Centro in 1972.
She married Emilio Aguirre in Mexicali on Feb. 10, 1968.
Mrs. Aguirre loved gardening, sewing and music, according to family. She will be missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 31, 1977.
Survivors include her sons, Gabriel and Fernando Aguirre, both of El Centro, Francisco Javier Aguirre of Upland, Emilio Aguirre Jr. of Imperial, Jose Aguirre of Poway and Oscar Herrera of Mexico City; daughters, Elizabeth Aguirre and Cecilia Ramos, both of El Centro, Olivia McCurry of Imperial, Maria Herrera of Moreno Valley, Flora Armenta of Chula Vista and Leticia de la Rosa of Indio; brother, Irineo de la Rosa of Mexico; 19 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
