The Desert League recently announced its all-league selections, with Vincent Memorial High's Manuel Padilla named defensive most valuable player and Vincent's Miguel Montaño and Holtville's Frank Lopez named co-offensive MVPs.
The first-team offense is Holtville's Lopez, Jared Brady and Sam Massey; Vincent's Montaño, Juan Lopez, Fernando Goycoolea, Eddie Olivas and Erick Rodriguez; Mountain Empire's Andrew Tucker and Patrick Carroll and Imperial's Ryan Ferriera.
The second-team offense is Vincent's Jorge Almejo, Chris Del Rio, Jose Ramon Lopez and Eric Ruiz; Imperial's Andre Cherry, Mountain Empire's Eric Helvie, Kyle Keeram and Jesse Perez; Holtville's Larry Iten and Ignacio Villaseñor and Calipatria's Alex Fairley.
Mountain Empire's Matt Thompson earned honorable mention on offense.
Defensively Vincent's Padilaa, Luis Alfonso Vidales, Daniel Soria, Jose Ramon Lopez and Juan Roman Lopez are joined on the first team by Holtville's James Hawk, Eric Cueto and J.B. Borchard, Imperial's Adrian Lopez and Mountain Empire's Josiah Findahl.
