This year the Halloween carnival at Finley Elementary School was a huge success. Without the help of many people this would not have been possible.
For the first time in many years the carnival was organized by the school's ASB adviser, Lovette Stiff, and the booths and games were set up, decorated and worked by the teachers. I would like to thank all of them for the many hours they devoted after their regular teaching day.
Our custodial staff arrived early and left late to help insure that the students and community had a fun, safe place to celebrate. The dinner was sponsored by the fifth-grade teachers and students with the help of many who contributed to its huge success.
We would like to thank the following for their donations of time, money or merchandise, all of which contributed to once again making the carnival a community and family event: John Grizzle, Jack Vessey, Tish and Herschel Lyon, Jack and Sharon Ainsworth, Joanie Thornburg, Rosie Johnson, Mi Casita restaurant, Jeff Gray, Rudy Schaffner, Ron Claybrook, Jerry Merten, Bobby Turner, Doug and Skylar Byram, Bill Daniell, Finley Interested Parents and Students, Del Sol Market, parent volunteers, Marisols Flowers, Mr. G's Pizza, Holtville Chamber of Commerce, Rorie's Hair, Parker's Pharmacy, Holtville Taco Shop, Mexico Lindo, Special Memories, Hair Designers, Teixeira Farms and Anthony Stiff, Auto Service Supply, Dee Hilfiker, Celia's, Torrence's Farm Implements and Scott Hester, Elms Equipment, Joe and Rose Patzloff, Parsons Airgas, Wal-Mart, Jim Sturgeon, Jerry Lira, Holtville Athletic Club.
