Iota Omicron meeting

The Iota Omicron chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the home of Ginger Ward in Holtville.

Chapter members will be collecting Christmas gifts for the children and adult clients of The Center For Family Solutions in El Centro.

Spartan Band Boosters

The Spartan Band Boosters will have a meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the band room on the Central Union High School campus in El Centro.


Items to be discussed include the Christmas concert potluck, the catalog sale and the Mardi Gras dinner and silent auction. All parents of band students, tall flags members and majorettes are encouraged to attend.


Child Development Services open house

The Imperial County Office of Education's Child Development Services will have an open house from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesday in Little Roadrunners State Preschool, 200 N. 12th St. in El Centro. The public is invited.

Legal secretaries' luncheon

The Imperial County Legal Secretaries Association will have its annual holiday luncheon from 11:45 to 2 p.m. Thursday in Barbara Worth Country Club near Holtville.

Guest speaker will be state Sen. Jim Battin, who represents Imperial County and parts of Riverside County. The cost of luncheon is $18 and the public is invited.

The Women's Ten Thousand Club will have its bridge and canasta luncheon at noon Thursday at its club house, 701 Olive Ave. in El Centro.

Claddagh Club annual Christmas diner

The Claddagh Club, Imperial Valley's Irish-American club, will have its annual Christmas dinner at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the Old Post Office Pavilion at the corner of Fifth and Olive streets in El Centro.

Entertainment will include Irish step-dancing and Irish music provided by The Renown Skelpins Quintet of San Diego.

Imperial library book sale

The Imperial Public Library will have a book sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the library, 200 W. 9th St.

Fiction and non-fiction children's and adult's books, paperbacks and some Spanish books will be available.
