BRAWLEY — A Calipatria man was arrested Friday afternoon on suspicion of assaulting another man.
Crisanto Abayo Juarez, 46, was arrested by Imperial County Sheriff's deputies on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after Juarez allegedly confronted the victim, a co-worker, and attacked him with his fists and boot, said Sgt. Manuel Avila.
The victim was listed on Sheriff's logs as Juan Ramirez.
The confrontation happened in a field near 5204 Dietrich Road where the victim was working as an irrigator, Avila said. The man was left with a swollen left side of his face, bruising, lacerations on his lips and redness on his upper body, Avila said. He was treated and released from Pioneers Memorial Hospital, Avila said.
As of Saturday night, Juarez was being held at county jail on $20,000 bail.
