PARADE ENTRIES:

Los Vigilantes Ramrod Robert Conway announced the winning entries in the 56th annual Los Vigilantes/Merchants Christmas Parade on Saturday after receiving the official results from the judges' panel Saturday afternoon.

The parade's theme was "United We Stand," and its sponsors were the Imperial Valley Press, Golden 1 Credit Union, Sizzler Restaurant, Imperial Irrigation District, Imperial Valley Penny Shopper and Paradise Casino.

Luv R' Kids Preschool and Daycare won the commercial division; Cuddle Me Safe Preschool won the youth organizations division; United Families Inc. (Brawley Preschool and Calipatria Infants and Preschool) won the public service organizations division; Voiture 512 of the 40/8 Imperial Valley won the service or fraternal organizations division; and St. Mary's Catholic School in El Centro won the religious groups division.

The judges were Arnold Preciado of El Centro Kiwanis Club, Vince Seay, Naval Air Facility El Centro command master chief and Charlotte Hester of the Soroptimist Club of El Centro.

"It was a wonderful turnout and everyone, including myself, enjoyed themselves and had a great time," commented John Anderson, president of the El Centro Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau.
