A Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Heber for Aurora R. Chapa, 93, of Heber, who died Saturday in Indio. The Rev. Angelo Risoli will officiate.

Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Calexico.

Mrs. Chapa was born July 18, 1908, in Salineno, Texas. She came to the Imperial Valley in 1956, settling in Heber.

Survivors include her daughters, Irma Vela and Oralia Rubio, both of Coachella, Aida Avila of Texas and Elva Ramirez and Elida Leyva, both of Heber; son, Flavio Chapa of Texas; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.



Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Frye Chapel & Mortuary in Brawley for Teresa H. Zamudio, 65, of Brawley, who died Saturday in Pioneers Memorial Hospital in Brawley. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m.

Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Thursday in St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Brawley. The Rev. Roque Vano will officiate.

Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Brawley.

Mrs. Zamudio was born on March 15, 1936, in the state of Queretaro, Mexico.

She married Raul Zamudio in Mexicali on Feb. 5, 1956 and shortly thereafter moved to the Imperial Valley, settling in Brawley, where the couple raised their children.

Mrs. Zamudio was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. She loved gardening and sewing for her family, according to family.

Survivors include her husband, Raul Zamudio of Brawley; son and daughter-in-law, Raul H. and Evelyn Zamudio of Brawley; daughters and sons-in-law, Carmen and Rudy Leal and Adriana and Manuel Escoto, all of Brawley; son, Anthony Zamudio of Brawley; daughter, Maria Gonzalez of Brawley; sister and brother-in-law, Nellie and Eddie Encinas of Brawley; sister, Guadalupe Hernandez of Brawley; brother, Benjamin Hernandez of El Centro; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
