IMPERIAL — There's word that Santa will be sneaking into town a little earlier this year — at least in the city of Imperial.

As part of Imperial's annual Christmas In A Small Town celebration Saturday, Santa will be arriving in town at noon with a little help from the Imperial County Fire Department.

Event coordinator JoEllen Jackson of the Imperial Chamber of Commerce says this year's celebration is expected to attract in excess of 5,000 people to this small but growing mid-Valley town.

Starting at 9 a.m., there will be booths selling homemade Christmas crafts suitable for gift giving, carolers and plenty of food stalls.

Local students will be providing entertainment and radio station KWST will be hosting a show live from the celebrations from 10 a.m.-1p.m.

And if you'd like your photo taken with Santa, he'll be ho-ho-hoing in front of the Video 2000 store from 1-3 p.m.
