3 percent pay raise on agenda

December 10, 2001|By LAURA MITCHELL, Staff Writer

The county supervisors are scheduled to give themselves a 3 percent pay raise at their meeting Tuesday.

The raise is retroactive to June 1, 2001.

Notice of the pay raise will be published in the Holtville Tribune.

The supervisors may approve travel expenses of $1,800 for Supervisor Tony Tirado and county Director of Public Works Tim Jones to attend a North American Development Bank meeting Dec. 13 in San Antonio.

The county Air Pollution Control District board has scheduled a public hearing at 11 a.m. Tuesday to update two rules on county crematoriums. The first rule defines crematoriums and pathological incinerators as different from commercial incinerators. The second rule adjusts fees for their use.

The board is scheduled to authorize a $4,000 loan to the Niland Fire District. The district needs a loan to cover matching funds for a grant, Supervisor Gary Wyatt said. The district originally had the money but one of its fire trucks broke down and the money was spent for repair, Wyatt said.

The Board of Supervisors meets at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the board chambers on the second floor of the County Administration Center, 940 W. Main St., El Centro. Meeting agendas are available online at:
