December 10, 2001|STAFF REPORT

Employees at El Centro Regional Medical Center went "over the top" in their drive to support the "Building on a Legacy of Caring Campaign" to help underwrite the cost of equipping the 66,000-square-foot addition to the hospital now under construction.

Bill Lewis, the hospital's director of development, announced the employee campaign had achieved a total of $54,381 in pledges and contributions, including $3,225 donated by the employee activities committee. The employee goal was $50,000. The activities committee raised funds through raffles, the sale of jackets carrying a hospital emblem and an employee-compiled cookbook.

Bill Haynes, activities committee chairman and co-chair with Barbara Barros of the employee contributions committee, presented the activities committee check to Cathy Farmer, the hospital's assistant administrator and chief financial officer. The presentation was made during a victory celebration on the hospital patio at which the employee contributions committee and the activities committee were recognized for their efforts.
