On behalf of the Workforce Investment Board of Imperial County, we congratulate everyone involved in the recent hiring of 600 Valley residents to work for Brawley Beef. This was accomplished through a partnership between Brawley Beef, the Imperial Valley Regional Occupational Program-Project Hope, the Imperial County One Stop Employment Services and the Imperial County Workforce Investment Board.
The mission of the WIB is "to cultivate a sustainable, prosperous community." The partnership that led to these jobs, that will help these employees become self-sufficient and that will improve the overall economic condition of the Valley is a major step toward that goal. Hopefully, this partnership will encourage other businesses, both potential and current, to utilize these available resources to ensure such success.
IVROP Project Hope provided 200 CalWORKs' clients ready for employment. Project Hope trained them, provided services for them and helped them prepare for these positions. Further, they assisted Brawley Beef in coordinating its immense hiring effort.
