On Saturday firefighters from the El Centro Fire Department will participate in their seventh annual El Centro Firefighter "Fill-the-Boot" fund raiser to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Firefighters will have their boots in hand at the intersection of Adams and Imperial avenues from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday so that motorists may give their dollars and change in an effort to help firefighters in their support of MDA.
Just look for red fire engines, "Fill-the-Boot" banners and firefighters with boots in hand.
Last year during the "Fill-the-Boot" program, El Centro firefighters raised $7,500 for the San Diego/Imperial chapter of MDA.
MDA helps children and adults affected by any of the 43 neuromuscular diseases covered by MDA's comprehensive medical services and research programs. MDA receives no government funding and charges no fees for those it serves.
