Wildcats take second at Colton

COLTON — The Brawley Union High School wrestling team took second in the Colton Christmas Classic here Saturday.

The Wildcats finished with 166.5 points behind Mount Carmel's 242.

"We did pretty good," said Brawley coach Keith Smith. "We didn't take a full team. We were missing five weights, but the guys came through pretty good."

The Wildcats got first-place finishes from Michael Sosa (103 pounds) and David Villagran (112). Tim Dowden (135) finished second, Michael Duffy (125) was third, Ceasar Mendez (130) was fourth and Anthony Cardenas (145) sixth.

Brawley will return to the mats Friday at the Reno Tournament of Champions in Reno.
