I feel that Mr. Victor Carrillo, the mayor of Calexico, is cheating the voters if he should decide to run for county supervisor. He promised the voters from Calexico when elected two years ago that he would fulfill his obligations on the City Council. He should fulfill the duties he promised to the voters of Calexico.
If he gets elected to the county Board of Supervisors, he would abandon his position and create a special election in order to fill his position. I don't think it's fair to the voters that he should elect to bail out before his term is over.
I feel that Mr. Carrillo should follow the honorable course of City Councilman Mr. Gilbert Grijalva by electing not to run again for City Council and resign at this point, prior to the forthcoming election.
Most of all Mr. Victor Carrillo should complete his four-year term as promised the voters and not cheat the citizens of Calexico out of two years.
