Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Frye Chapel & Mortuary in Brawley for Sebastian M. Razo, 58, of Brawley, who died in his home Monday after a lengthy illness.

Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Friday in St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Brawley. The Rev. Roque Vano will officiate.

Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Brawley.

Mr. Razo was born Feb. 25, 1943, in the state of Guanajuato, Mexico.

He married Esperanza Rivera in Mexicali on Nov. 5, 1967. The Razos moved to the Imperial Valley in 1967, settling in Brawley, where they raised their daughters, Martha and Andreina. Mr. Razo worked for the Elmore Co. for 20 years.


Mr. Razo enjoyed spending time with his daughters and granddaughters, listening to music and dancing with his wife. He was a caring husband, father and grandfather, according to family.

Survivors include his wife, Esperanza Razo of Brawley; daughters and sons-in-law, Martha and Kevin Locklin of Antioch and Andreina and Joe Mascareñas of Woodland; mother, Juana Muñoz of El Centro; sister, Lupe Tune of Gardnerville, Nev.; brother, Pablo Razo of Salinas; granddaughters, Emily Mascareñas of Woodland and Sarah and Holly Locklin, both of Antioch; and numerous family members and friends.

The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or American Lung Cancer Association.

Arrangements are under the direction of Frye Chapel & Mortuary of Brawley.


Services are pending for Jesse A. Garcia III, 16, of Brawley, who died of a gunshot wound Tuesday in San Diego.

Jesse was born April 27, 1985, in Brawley, where he was raised and attended local schools.

He was a sophomore at Brawley Union High School, playing on the school's junior varsity football team.

He was an active member of Victory Outreach Church's youth group.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Richard Estrada, in 1980, and Minnie Estrada in 1983; and paternal grandparents, Jesus P. and Paula Garcia.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Dinah and Gilbert Rodriguez of Brawley; father, Jesus Garcia of Brawley; sister, Angelic Marie Garcia of San Bernardino and Ashley Garcia of Brawley; brother, Gilbert Mark Anthony Rodriguez of Brawley; sister and brother-in-law, Crystal and Edgar Gutierrez of Gridley; grandparents, Gilberto and Nellie Rodriguez of Brawley; and great-grandmother, Antonia Herrera of Brawley; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Arrangements are under the direction of Frye Chapel & Mortuary of Brawley.
